Superheaters are available for steam or water. Superheating water yields high pressure hot water at greater that 212°F (100°C) . This provides heat transfer applications with a water based option that is still in liquid phase. Superheating steam provides higher temperature steam at a given pressure. The steam is therefore very dry.
